Margarida Fontes is researcher at the National Laboratory for Energy and Geology (LNEG) in Portugal. She has a PhD in Management of Innovation from the University of Manchester. Her main research interests are knowledge dynamics, sustainability transitions and scientific entrepreneurship. She conducts research on the process of knowledge production, dissemination and use in emerging fields (renewable energies; marine technologies; biotechnology; ICT), with particular emphasis on the behaviour of organizations and individual actors and on the system level impacts of their activities and interactions. She has published and participated in national and international research projects in these fields, being currently involved in the projects OceanTrans and OffshorePlan (Portugal 2020), GreenIn and Mistral (H2020).
